Jenna Sullivan

Dr. Sullivan was born and raised in Nashville, TN. As the daughter of two veterinarians, she
was introduced to veterinary medicine from a very young age, and her parents’ veterinary
practice became a second home. She fostered her interest in the field by working at her family’s
practice throughout her high school and undergraduate years. She attended Case Western
Reserve University in Ohio for her undergraduate education, intending to pursue a career in
forensic science. However, after reigniting her passion for veterinary medicine one summer, she
began pursuing a career in veterinary medicine.
She continued her veterinary education at her parents’ alma mater, University of Tennessee,
where she discovered her love for the diversity and fast-pace of emergency medicine during her
first year. She became a member of the small animal student emergency team, working rotating
weekends in the ER, and pursued the opportunity to become RECOVER CPR certified before
starting her fourth year. Her other career interests include surgery, veterinary forensics,
behavior, and opossum rehabilitation. She was afforded the opportunity to explore these
interests during her fourth year by completing externships with a opossum rehabilitation center
and the ASPCA Veterinary Forensic Science Center in Florida.
In her spare time, she enjoys running, reading, puzzles, visiting vintage and antique stores, and
exploring Indianapolis.
