IndyVet Internships are year-long with an opportunity for our interns to rotate through another program for up to 2 weeks to gain additional experience or mentorship that will facilitate their future plans. Previous interns have rotated through outside anesthesia programs (both human and veterinary), as well as zoo programs, and oncology, to name a few. We also enjoy a close relationship with the world renowned Indianapolis Zoo, which allows occasional experience with cases not typical for a companion animal practice.
Because we feel continuing education is critical to the development and future of young veterinarians, we provide both time and funds to encourage our interns to attend a meeting during their internship year. Our interns have attended national meetings like VECCS, ACVIM, VCS, and more. A portion of the CE allowance can be used for purchasing books and the practice also provides membership to our local VMA organization, as well as a membership to VIN.
Internship providing experience in all of the areas IndyVet has to offer.
