Dr. Newquist grew up in Corbin, Kentucky. She always loved animals but truly developed an interest in veterinary medicine during her high school anatomy class. Dr. Newquist attended Eastern Kentucky University for her undergraduate education, volunteering at the local humane society and helping with research projects during the school year while working at a small animal general animal practice and volunteering with a wildlife rehab center during summers. She continued her academic career at Lincoln Memorial University pursuing her veterinary degree. Dr Newquist developed a love of small animal emergency medicine during her second year summer when she spent some time at an ER practice during a summer program.
When not working, Dr. Newquist enjoys spending time with friends and family. She also dabbles in crafting, video games, and spending time with her dog, a Great Pyrenees/Collie mix named Aspen.
