Dr. Pisani grew up in Ontario, Canada where at a young age, discovered her love for animals. This love and curiosity extends to all species large and small and knew at an early age that she wanted to make a difference by helping animals through veterinary medicine and conservation. She attended the University of Guelph for an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences where she spent her extra time volunteering in small animal clinics.
After completing three years, she received early acceptance into the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario. During that time, she worked as a marine mammal caregiver and trainer at her hometown aquarium in Niagara Falls, and also had the opportunity to work in South Africa with wildlife veterinarians involved in species conservation and projects such as the Buffalo Tuberculosis Testing Project. These experiences really affirmed her love for exotic species. She continued her pursuit for additional experiences in this field and was fortunate to have spent her fourth year elective rotations at world-renowned institutions including the Toronto Zoo and Vancouver Aquarium!
When not working, Dr. Pisani enjoys spoiling her two cats, Jonah & Ginny. She loves to travel and explore new places and is always up for a new adventure. She is excited to be joining the team here at Indyvet!
