Pet First Aid & CPR Training Offered at IndyVet April 28th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
As a pet owner, your animal’s health and safety is of top priority and that’s why IndyVet Emergency & Specialty Hospital (IndyVet) provides a bi-annual Pet First Aid & CPR training class. This course focuses on preparing pet owners for animal-related emergencies. The training class will be held at IndyVet’s facility on the city’s southeast side and provide participants with plenty of hands-on experience with ResusciDog – the life-sized canine mannequin. The Pet First Aid & CPR class will take place Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
This four-hour class will educate pet owners on how to handle and access a variety of animal-related scenarios. Dr. Jim Speiser, owner of IndyVet, will cover emergency topics including vomiting, trauma, shock, bleeding, choking, poisoning, heat stroke, broken bones, burns, paralysis and more. Participants will utilize ResusciDog to learn the proper ways of administering CPR on an animal and exercise lifesaving techniques through various drills.
The cost of the course provides participants with an animal first aid manual, instruction from experts in emergency veterinary medicine, an hour of extensive hands-on training, refreshments, certificate of completion, and a tour of IndyVet's 22,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility. The course costs $50 per person and pre-registration is required. Class size is limited and participants are asked to leave their pets at home.
